The Nambour Garden Expo.
Queensland premier Garden Show held at the Nambour Showgrounds each Queensland winter school holidays, held this year from July 8th to 10th.
The show continues to grow each year, despite a number of similar shows trying to compete at other times of the year. This years show didn’t disappoint with a splendid array of entertaining speakers providing information on every aspect of gardening, over 300 exhibitors featuring many requirements that gardeners find difficult to source in every day life, on display all in one location.
There was something for every one to see and join-in, wandering musicians, attractive young ladies on stilts, practical demonstrations to keep the crowds entertained and workshops hosted by a well known fertilizer produced and by a locally known provider of garden ingredients.
There were 6 locations for the 40 speakers presenting 120 sessions, all were fully attended as the speakers included Costa Georgiadis, Sophie Thompson, and Jerry Coleby-Williams of ABC TV Gardening Australia, as well as Claire Bickle, Arno King and many others.
One area of particular interest as always, the giant Kitchen Garden with gardening experts on hand to help answer questions from Bees to Chicken Coops and the Bush food Nursery.
Not forgetting the large displays of Nursery products selling all types of plants for the garden, from seedlings to shrubs and trees. The nursery areas were frequented by patrons towing four wheel hand carts in which to place their plant purchases.
The Plant Clinic was kept busy with problem questions from keen gardeners who were experiencing a host of problems with their gardens.
The weather was perfect for the show, a beautiful winter sunny weather for the three days of the show.
